A good thing to do would be to record in demo format first (smaller file) and then use the thirdpersonn command 2 times to get to the view you need. Then record with fraps only the scenes you want.

Demo info:
record demoname <-- records that demo
stop <-- stop recording all demos

play demoname <-- plays recorded demos

Then when your playing (after you get the camera just right) hit the fraps hotkey. This will generally take your fps to 4 (main reason why you demo record first) and it will be recording. After about 5 minutes you have a 4 gig file, so be shure you have some .avi changing software to lessen the file size.

unless you wanna pay for fraps (or get a keygon or sth ) you can only record for 30 sec and i think without sound.

Besides, the older version will record with sound Half-life. They just "reccommend" that you not use it for openGL. I have used the older version before I "acquired" a newer version.
