How to make esf work?????

my questuon is how to make esf work with steam
i installed steam and there a couple of options on the menu
play games
browse games
ect.
what do i need to do????

you need to install halflife first, then run it via steam

to do this, you need a legitimate cdkey - go to the browse games menu then register a product I already own.

or u could just find a cs1.6 installer and install that to your steam folder then esf , or install cs 1.6 and then install esf in the directory of cs (example d:/games/valve/Couter-Strike/esf)

or u only download the steam file install it, register your cd key and make a double click on half-life...

i need help on geting it to work, well i have half life but we moved and we lost the CD key but i got half life 2 and half life: sorce (and CS: sorce and HL2 Death match) so can i play ESF? and also when you download it do you Save it or open it? and where do you save it? If you do.

you cannot, you need a halflife 1 cdkey, hl source doesn't cut it i'm afraid
