My uncle, his dog and I booked a cabin house near Smith Mountain Lake and spent 3 days there through Christmas. Not what I usually do, but everyone here in the USA seems to be crazy about roughing it and going on random trips. Quite a pleasant change from spending Christmas at home actually, was good fun (the dog loved swimming in the lake despite the freezing temperature).

What's stopping you?:p
Money not well spent mostly.

BTW, I'm not celebrating christmas of course, but how come I almost didn't see any of you guys saying "I went to a party"? Christmas and no parties, is it like that usually?

Christmas is, typically, an event spent with family. New Year's Eve usually fills the bill for the holiday party quota for those who are so inclined, and a lot of organizations and venues will hold holiday-themed "parties" prior to the actual holiday, itself.
