Well last night they repeated a Derren Brown show on TV again, and I thought it'd be a pretty good subject for debate. Derren Brown is a performer, and he uses mind tricks, and powerful suggestion. He doesn't claim to have any powers he always says that its a trick, but he's outstandingly good at it. Anyway, his special "messiah" is about him trying to get endorsement from influential people who promote paranormal belief systems in America. He poses as a psychic, and dead reader amongst other things, its an interesting watch.

I remember seeing his show on the sci-fi channel once, I don't think it lasted that long though. I was the one where he played like 7 chess maters in chess and beat most of them.

Yeah sounds like something he'd do, he's had multiple series here, he also tours and does his stuff live. My favourite part of this messiah program has to be the bit where he instantly converts a whole room of atheists to Christianity, its pretty scary though.

Favourite thing i've seen him do though is going to the dog races and taking winning from losing tickets, and they just pay out to him no matter what dog won... **** i wish i cud do that :|

lol you obviously missed the entire point of the show. and he really doesn't use actors or stooges. in his live shows he guarantees this, by throwing a stuffed animal into the crowd, and having the crowd throw it round a few times. whoever has it last, goes onstage.

the point isn't to lable HIMSELF messiah. the point was that ANYONE can be labled that, and it's important to question those people, as we often make life changing decisions based on their opinion.
