Help Uber Slow Steam

Yo, my steams ben working fine but all of a sudden its uber uber slow.
I was playing esf and my ping was always liek 500-2000.

I thoguht maybe it was just esf, but it was the same in dod. Anyone got a hint as to what could be wrong.

could be spy/add ware on your computer , or a virus

if u remeber in the hl1 won readme , the game acted werid if the exe file had been modded from a virus and such

hope this solves you problem (if that doesn't work , reinstall all the steam stuff and your mods)
