I require some help figuring out what settings I need to have for my server. Usually, I'm the one helping others with this stuff, but I need a bit of a refresher on some things.

I never run more than 1 server at a time and with 8 max players.

I want to know things like RATES & SYS_TICRATE settings and weather I should used PINGBOOSTER (the metamod plugin)

<NOTE> I also play on my dedicated server (with the same comp) or do other things sometimes while my server is running

- Windows XP Home Edition (All Current Updates)
- 512 MB DDR (PC 2700) RAM
- AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Processor (2.083 GHz) with QuantiSpeed architecture
- NVIDIA nForce 2
- 180GB HD (Primary HD = 140 | Slave HD = 40) -> Virtual memory set on Windows Management (Both)
- NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Graphics (1 AGP 8x Slot Available) WITH LATEST DRIVERS (03/15/04)
- Comcast Cable (3MB Download/256KB Upload)

pingbooster gives u some lower pings but the people who get higher pings will show fluctuating pings and all that so they could get 100 instead of 200 but it might go all the way upto 400

so really unless everyone on ur server gets moderate pings i wouldnt bother with pingbooster

Pingbooster is a CPU hog, just like bots.

Do you bave your bots disabled? That would increase the effective ness a whole lot.
