Help installing ESF

Hey im a newb here...
im just having a problem installing ESF in my computer
i have the game counterstrike the mod ONLY...
i dont have the game Half Life and all that other stuff
but i do have a Half Life folder in the folder "SIERRA"
how do i install ESF in my computer...like where should the directory of the ESF file be waypointed to since i only have the mod Counterstrike...?

I have the directory GAMES://Counter-Strike/cstrike...
should i put it there?
or should i put it in SIERRA://Half-Life...
i have two of those directories in my comp and im confused on which one to put it in
ummm...and when i put it in, how do i open the game and start operating it?
