help installing 1.2 and steam!

I have download ESF 1.2, Steam, and CS lands steam pack, I open the steam thing, everything goes well, but i havnt recieved email verification yet!? how long does it take? ALso, correct me if im wrong, but once i do the validation, abnd install 1.2, i use CS lands Pack? then im ready?

The major problem, however, is when i try and install ESF, this is what happens as it is just about to copy all the files and such:

that's what you want it to look like. You're trying to install it to a file and not the folder

I didnt understand that, however when i ewnt to search for what directory i installed it to, i decided to do steam as i just recieved the verification, now it is working fine wiht steam
