Well i'm having some problems with ping when I joined every sever my ping is like 1,000!! or 500 even more or less but is never less than 100....I have CABLE internet but my dad has the CABLE MODEM so we have a linksys I have my network cable connected to it.So I don't know why I have such bad ping on ESF.I changed the slot of my network cable on the linksys since it has mutliple slots I change it and put on other slot.So my ping was like 120 and it was great I could move fast enough.But then my ping rises again to 200,300,400,500,600,700,800,and 1,00 event o 1,600. O_O I have cable I shouldn't even have such problem.Well I have all programs closed nothing running but esf.My last comp I didn't have this problem.But on this new one I got is having it but when I first got it it was working just fine.But now my ping is worse and it moves like slow when I turn around I can see the face of my character.Is there anyway to improve my ping like buying a new Linksys or something????? please help...

That problem depends on a lot of things.
#1. it could be that the area your ISP provides cable is satuarated, nothing you can really do about that.
#2. Could be that you're not looking at ping when you join servers, make sure that you join a server that has 5 or 6 green dots(using generic Half-Life Multiplayer game search).
#3. Programs that don't use the internet have nothing to do with it, make sure no one else in your house is using kazaa, or any other online P2P program while you play ESF.
#4. Somoene already mentioned changing rates, but generally 8000 is an ideal rate for a cable modem.
#5. If the cable that connects to the modem is in any way damaged, it could easily slow down your speed. Try getting a new one.
If you try to fix these and the problem still persists, then the only thing to do is call your ISP and complain, If the cable modem isn't working as well they promised it would, they MUST fix your problem, especially if you have a contract with them.
