So i'm new to this forum and i saw that many good modellers are around here.
This is my first model,i used the 1.3 Gohan pic on esf-world as ref. Don't know if i'm allowed to use it, if not, i will use another one.
So here it is, c&c please ^^

Well, as far as I know cloning counts as ripping. (copying another persons model)
I would suggest you'd ask the modeler for permission or use a different reference. =)

actually he is jsut using the model renders as an outline thats not really cloning is it?

If it contains the shape, it's pretty much cloning, even if it doesnt use the exact structure.
But I dont really have a say in this.

I guess I should post something useful about the model =P
It's really early to judge, but it looks good so far, not much to comment on either =P

Well he's cloning the shape, but if 1.3 gohan is 100% accurate to the show, then you could also see it as cloning gohan from the show xD, though that might be a bit farfetched. His model has a different polystructure, I don't see the problem.

Looks really good for a first dude, keep it up =)

SV is right,

we havent had to enforce it as much as we used to, but cloning is still against the rules.

ill leave you with 2 options,

secure the authors permission to use it,
-or-
i can go ahead and close the thread now, and you can start on your next model

Didn't know that useing a render as a ref count as cloning.
Oh and i don't know who made this model, so i can't ask him...

Becaus i can't find any other good refs, i know Davidskiwan (think was him) made some, but the link(or folder) in the ref thread is empty

Wow! your model looks good so far.How do u do that? My first model is Far More Crappy than yours. What tutorial did you used?

you can jsut use that budokai ref =/
I dont see the problem with you using it

well whats the difference with him using the budokai render with someone elses render. He could easily trace over the renders in photoshop and make his own ref...
tbh if he doesnt copy the models structure or texture its all fine and dandy imo.
