If you want to turn off your Windows XP firewall, do this: Start Menu--Settings--Network Connections--Find your connection in that list, and RIGHT CLICK it. Hit "Properties."
Your Connection Properties will come up.
Click the "ADVANCED" tab.

It should say..
"Internet Connection Firewall"

UNCHECK the box, and press Okay.

Tada!

LOL

SORRY BUT ROFLMAO

At both the first and second posts

Also I have no 'settings' in my start menu, so if you go to what is defaultly called 'My Network Places' on your desktop, right click it, properties, right click your connection's name, properties, then go to advanced tab, you will have the same result.

Are you using Windows XP, in Classic Window mode? If you do, then you should have Settings.
If you're not using Classic Window mode, then you've just got "my network places."

I prefer the Classic menu instead of the supposedly "user friendly" way that's been set up so children can find Solitaire. :/

If he can't figure out how to disable the firewall I don't think he has the windows classic setup.
