I think Malboro from FF-7 was pretty hard to beat dam bad breath but they got easier to as they game progressed - now FF-8 Malboros got way easier ribbon, auto-haste, Ultima on my status def so i absorb damage its so sweet. so i think Malboros in general are hard to beat but they get eaiser to beat as the FF series goes on. Not to say tonberrys were difficult just not for me.

Tonberry wasnt all that great, but Master Tonberry pwned. The first time i encountered him, i died. I eventually figured out how to beat him (and now i dont remember), but i still tried to avoid fights with him as there were usually more than 1 in a battle.

anyway malboro's were very annoying on FFVIII imo. bad breath messed me up everytime. didn't have a lot of stuff junctioned on status defence.

I think the only thing we asked was for him not to make them so fast. Malboro is hands down, the most annoying enemy in ANY FF game EVER. Staus effects abound and thats the ball game. FF8 was at least the easiest in terms of protection. Get a couple stat-def +3 junctions and you can protect against the worst effects.

Malboros, definitely. That attack just WRECKED me. And it was soooo annoying too, because I needed to keep trying to kill them to construct some ultimate weapon or something, I remember.
