After DJ-Ready gives out a huge explanation about "invisible walls" and binary space partitions:

random kid: "well, I've been mapping a little, and I think it has to do with the sky... thing... YEAH! And then I compiled a map without the sky texture!!11"

That totally made my day. XD

Overall it was funny, but there were like 3 questions that I didnt know the answer to, one being the release date. The vast majority of the questions you can answer by browing the forum for 5 - 10 minutes, or reading the magical thing called a manual. I was hoping for some new information, but I guess not o_o

The kid acting like an HL expert is so funny, actually thinking he could "prove DJ-Ready" wrong on the air... what a joke XD

It was funny, and at least HL2 wasnt asked 50 times like last time, this time around they refrained to like 10...

Dj-ready you really know to use microphone :D Well it was fun...short time. waiting esf 1.2 it much easier than listen that whole 1h15min radio show(i think i never listen it to end :D)

I would like to point out we didnt lock the models to stop any type of scripts or kill addon mods. DT posted a few months ago that we 'ran out of animations'. This is true, when you give every character every animation, like giving goku death ball, final flash, special beam cannon, you can easily double the amount of animations he actually needs. Due to HL's original design, you have to give every model the same exact animations in the same exact order.
I implemented a new model loading technique that basically allows you to only give characters the animations they need. It also allows each model to play animations at their own speeds, instead of being 100% independent on the evil "player.mdl."
The downside is that I need to precache all of the models when the game starts up, so I need to manually do like
PRECACHE_MODEL("player/goku/goku.mdl");
blah blah for all the models. Before the engine would precache them on the fly for you and not require you to precache manually at start, so you could change models whenever you wanted. NOW If you try to change to a model that wasnt precached, it crashes the server.
The only way I can see about fixing this is if i manually do a search in the models/player directory, precache all of the models in there, then keep a list of those precached models so players cant switch to a model that doesnt exist... sounds like a project for the beta 1.2 patch, or beta 1.3 ^_^

ohh men i relaay like it that the esf team is gonna release it on 8 may :) 10 days later it`s my birthday :)

BUT if the esf team is gonna think of presending the pack to me to host it than i would be happy to do it but there is one problem... esfstuff only has 200 GB traffic avalible for a month and sinse i`m allreaddy arround the 190 GB in a month i think i cannot put it online in the first few months :( but i might buy a dedicated server now that i know when it`s gonna be released.

but than again.. i would only have 1 TB (1000 GB) avalible than and lets say that esf 1.2 will be 250 MB than 4000 people can download it :(

men you need a house full of dedicated servers to give everyone esf 1.2b

Locked models... Can it be worse? :cry: PCJoe, couldn't you just take more time and make that magic (precaching all the models)? EVM and future ETA lovers will start loving you (don't take me wrong) :D
Doing PRECACHE_MODEL("teh_model.mdl") and SET_MODEL(playerentitie,"teh_model.mdl"); won't work?
