It isn't true. Funimation couldn't even legally enter their site, and there's no way they would want to port something that... was... as ... how do I say this... "bad" as 1.7? Sure, you say 1.8, but 1.8 isn't even finished. and some employee just looking at 1.7 would hardly be impressed by the klunky control scheme and below average animations. Besides, check the forums, it was Akira's idea to make that post.
