Here's where it falls short, imo. You can't do just 1v1 or anything like that if you wanna fight a friend. It HAS to be an online match with multiple players/AI enemies.

No there is 1vs1 if you create room and choose 2 players this is 1 vs 1

Nope, you can choose 1v1, you just need the maximum players to 2 and then no cpus will be assigned.
