dedicated server motd question.

I never hosted a server but now I am, How do I set a motd on my server? I cant figure it out. I made the "motd.txt but I'm not sure if I need to put a command somewhere or what.

Any help?

You got it right. Just drop the motd.txt in the ESF folder of your server, and then when players join, the motd will appear in the console. Note that you wont be able to see the motd from server side.

when i join my own server it doesnt show up.. i think im doing something wrong.

Edit: wait in the console? didnt see if it showed there, how do i make it show on the screen before the char selection?

I think all you do is create Motd.txt and type whatever you want on it.

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\raventrunks\dedicated server\esf\motd.txt

Thats the exact directory i put it at, now do i have to put a command in some .cfg saying to load the motd? cause I looked in some and theres nothing that mentions motd messages.
