I had read the first post thoroughly yesterday (and thought I posted too o_O) - and I really like the concept on the whole. Although it has quite a few similarities to Natural Selection (which isn't a bad thing) - it's still quite original and I'm sure harS will look into this thread when we work on CTDB for a future release. Gj. :)

Thanks grOOv3h. Hopefully I can help in some way with this new game mode. If there is only one thing you want to take from this, it should be waypoints, it would make Rick's bot coding that much easier for CTDB.

Just so you know Shadow, you can already throw dragon balls.

Gohan can keep one in his hat?

And it might be that the team already knows exactly how they want their ctdb mode to be. What's in there now is just a placeholder.

Maybe they do, but just because they have doesn't mean they can't be open for more suggestions ;).

Immortality - I dont think it should be for all of the team members
maybe to myself and another team mate but for all of them... I think its too much!

I have an idea here which is ki based and is given by:

goku tells vegeta to keep the blobs where all their friends and family are!
how does he do that? uses telekinetzis I think and make them flow near him...

so a ki based option to make the dbs flow near you...
since it will make you have more then 1-3 dbs at a time it will have many disatvantages...
tell me what you think about this one ah?

Hmmm, I'll think about changing some things to make it better for smaller games

But then you get the problem Nadz was talking about. One guy that just camps the DragonBalls and gets the others to do the work, and the guy doing no work gets all the benifeits.

If you do a knockback, you steal the person's DragonBall.

I'm not sure if that's necessarily needed. I don't t think you'll ever need to carry more than 3 (for Cell or Freiza). That would totally ruin the balancing of having a character not carry as many DragonBalls as another.

I'd think that the sprite would be shown through fog, and if there was a map with enough fog to clearly block visibility it would be laggy and not played.

But then you get that guy on a public server who is a **** and wants to take all the wishes for himself, leaving the rest of the team with nothing.

I may remove this, since most of the game should be fighting to control the seven DragonBalls, not finding them.

Thanks for the input, I'll think about the Respawn System again, see if I can come up with some tweaks for making a smaller game a bit more fun.

with the Ki holding balls thing...
In the frieza saga, ginyu was able to carry all 7 balls at once, using his telekenetic powers. This wouldnt happen in game, and even if you let frieza carry like 4 or 5, it would be too un-balanced. I say leave it to the hands / tails

Alright, a little bit of a tweak to the Spawn System:

Respawn System said:

- Once a player dies those kills are not factored in again into "Spawn Time"
- "Spawn Time" can't go below ten seconds
- A clock will be shown to dead players only on the 'Spectator Menu'
- When a teammate is spawned it will say "1 Teammate Respawned" over top of the scouter for those ingame
- If there is more than one user spawned at that time (usage of the wish Revive) it will say "(amount of users spawned) Teammates Respawned"
- If time needs to be added to the "Spawn Time" while a player is dead, it won't update the clock until that player's next death
I pretty much did some reductions (the underlined lines). Reduced origional spawn time to 15 seconds, reduced time added for each player on your team to 1 second (instead of 2), chaned time reduced for each kill that death to 2 seconds (from 3 seconds) and (although not up there) reduced the time reduced for wishing for Teamwork.

I'm not sure if I'll make any more changes, because, if they do want to use this respawn system, once they get it into game and start testing, they'll be able to find an even ground for both small and large games.

no, you didnt understand me currectly...
forget the dog example, it was only to make you understand that the spirite
is behind a wall so I must understand that there are some obstacles in teh way to the waypoint...

any way I DO AGrEE that I should see that spirit anywhere in the map...
only thing is that it should change color if there is something in the way directly to it... if you know what I mean...
if in the direct pass to it there is nothing but clear space then it should get the default color of the spirite...

(P.S. - HUGE SUGGESTION and a lot of gl to u there...)

Oh I get you now, make the sprite something different so they know it's behind something. I'm sure that would work...

Shadowfox i read it al Exept thad New radar mode CHange it to this NO SCOUTER Just The Sense Abilety :d ANd then Just a dragonradar :D I wil put this as a sugestion to

i like the idea because:
1. it adds mode that involves teamplay
2. with the new transformations in 1.3, it makes it easier to gain power to transform to the higher levels
3. celly and frieza get three DBs(the two characters i use)
4. it will probably bring more ppl to the game...if everyone doesnt come when the new transes arrive
5. it adds stategy to the traditional form of ESF--the beat em up style that we're...used to
6. i like chicken

i dont like this idea because:

1. i didnt think of it. NOOOOOOO!!!

I think that u should only be able to make a waypoint on the ground since the dragonballs are only on the ground and I think it would help the bots.

capture the dragonball should be respawn and roundbased.. so there would be a variety

this part im not really liking.. i mean goku only one ball? the esf team practically made each character balanced in terms of strength.. so it would be sort of useless to do it in this fashion.. maybe the older skinnier (not buu) would hold two.. goku 2, vegeta 2, .. gohan 1, krillin 1, trunks 1.. makes sense bigger ones can hold more

Stealing A DragonBall
- Hit your opponent with a Knockback and all DragonBalls are transfered to you
- If you can't carry anymore the excess ones are dropped
i dont think it should be transferred automatically... if u hit them anyway they should just drop the ball on the ground.. you have to be the one to retrieve it


seems like a good idea, but could be tweaked a little.. cool

First you should know that Trunks is much bigger than Vegeta. ;)
I realy dont like the idea of bigger ones being able to carry more at all.
And I think Goku and Vegeta are strong enoth already. They don't need any more specials!!!

The dragonballs are quite small and you could hold 1 in each hand
Unless it's namek dragonballs.
Freiza has telekenesis and Freiza wouldn't be stupid enough to forget that.

Maybe Buu could hold one in his antenae on his head only and could still attack

A modification to the list

Buu=1(Antenae and could still attack(candify un-availble)
Goku=2(1. hand 2. other hand)
Gohan=2(1. hand 2. other hand)
Krillen=2(1. hand 2. other hand)
Trunks=1(hand(could still use basic melee)
Vegeta=2(1. hand 2. other hand)
Freiza=4(telekenesis(speed drops by 40%)
Cell=3(1.hand 2.other hand 3.tail)
Piccolo=1(hand(generic beam/ball+1/2 power sbc)

And to all posts regarding "the holding the DragonBall's" part. I made it that way to balance each character out (for 1.1, because that's when I made the thread). I made Freiza hold the most since he wasn't used as much as he is now. Now, with 1.2 things are different (and the same will happen for 1.3). This list will be tweaked (if this idea is implemented) when 1.3 comes along and a character needs to be given an edge.

Now, the whole point of not having everyone carry the same amount of DragonBalls is for strategy. If you were in a clan, you'd practise having different members play as different characters to see what combination of characters you'd like to use in a match. This is where you and the rest of your clan would have to hold practises in order to "master" this gamemode.

I don't like round based games (that's one of the things I hate about CS). Too much waiting involved, especially in ESF where it is so easy to die because of a beam. With my respawn system, you don't have to wait too long to play again, until late game that is (though the times can be tweaked, which only can be done "perfectly" through testing). Plus you can reduce your waiting time depending on your skill level, which allows the better players to have an advantage over the newer ones and the skilled clans have the advantage over the newbie ones etc. Plus this is a bit more unique compared to round based, which is always nice to have in a mod.

I think it is a great method of stealing a DragonBall. Though I can see why people think it's bad. This would be because it wouldn't allow a person to hit their opponent twice in a row with simple melee. But that it won't matter because if you continue holding secondary fire you drop the DragonBall (assuming that after you drop it, your weapon changes to the last one used). This will allow you to hit your enemy again. I also think it'll be cool to hit your opponent and steal his\her DragonBall(s). Then toss the DragonBall(s) back at him\here to then smack him\her away. Thus, taking all their DragonBall(s) again. Almost like in the movies where they throw the football at a guy then tackle it back out of him xD.

Anyways, now that I've answered the questions\comments, I'd like this thread to be closed (cause it could be thought of as reviving a dead thread). And don't double post the 2nd Son, use the Edit button ;). Thanks for the comments guys (and girls, if there were any).
