Can't play esf alpha 2.0

Don't ask why I want to but I simply cant play.

When I try to play it, it gives me HL fatal error "cannot load library client.dll"

What do I need to do?

You probably need the alpha fmod.dll file.

Extract the DLL to your Half-Life folder and rename the DLL to "fmod.dll".

Did you download the original or the Steam compatible version? Try downloading the Steam compatible version (make sure you remove the old Alpha installation):

I've downloaded it a few times and haven't had any problems.

Whoops, I forgot that you need to setup the key configurations manually through the "config.cfg" file.

If you go to the "esforces" folder, there should be a file titled, "alpha2.0_steam_compatible.rar". Open it and look for a file named, "config.cfg" and extract it to your "esforces" folder. It'll ask if you want to overwrite, select "Yes". Now, your keys should be set up properly.

However, if you wish to change any of the key assignments, you have to do it manually through the "config.cfg" file.
