Can't make lan game...

Bah, i'm having a wierd problem, and it effects my HL mods (not normal HLDM). I can't make a lan game. I usually need to make a lan game for esf (takes a long time to load up) then it start to run fine, then join a server. But what? I can't make one. It gives me the usual stuff, then my HL just shuts off. No error, no warning... nothing.

Help?

in this situation, the best thing todo is to reinstall HL, then all teh files that could be cruptted or missing will be reinstalled back into there original place
