OK, the candy beam is a problem, and after being on it's recieving end for the worst part of 2 hours, i've thought of a solution.

In the show, it never 'did damage', it just made candy. So instead of having it sap HP, how about having the struggle meter come up (throwing, blockstruggling, powerstruggling...that bar) and slowly begin a one-sided struggle. The meter comes into effect while Buu is firing it at his target (lets say Trunks). While the beam is over Trunks, the level on the bar slips onto one side. After the beam moves off of Trunks, the meter stays but the marker gradually moves back up to the default middle point, dissapearing when it's there. If however the marker gets to the end of the bar, the victim becomes candy.

Trunks' HP effects the meters starting position. If he had 30% HP remaining, then Buu would only have to complete 30% of the bar, OR the bar drains 3x as fast, so people with low HP have a higher chance of becoming candy (like it is now).

This means it's no longer possible to throw someone into a wall/into the ground and starting draining their HP little by little. It would meaning holding the beam onto the target for a lot longer, and it wouldn't be used as a 'weapon' unless the victim was dangerously low on HP. People with low HP would still become candy (as the system is now) but people with higher HP have a resistance, and can do some damage without constantly being poked with the beam every few seconds.

I don't think there's one person on this forum who can't say that Buu is overpowered and needs toning down, and I think this is a step in the right direction to solve that. C&C?

i actually would like candy to work like a straight beam that charges pretty long. when buu turned vegetto into candy, he waited for a while and shot at him while he was unguarded. same thing should work here. a charge bar that charges kinda slow, goes in one direction uncontrollable, and if hit, instant candy.

this sounds pretty cool too, but i'd actually want it instant like how it was in the show

I think it should be an instant kill, but with no range i.e. Buu must make physical contact to use the attack. In the show the attack pretty much was an instant kill (Vegetto excluded) at least this would remove the throw and shoot strategy.

I think it should be a controllable beam (like a generic beam) but can't explode. As in it has to physically touch somone to turn them into candy. But that could make it sorta spammable.

I'd imagine you'd need something more along the lines of they can only be candied if under x life...because the toss and tase stratagem seesm to be effective..

i don't like the struggle.. it sounds cool, but what happens if you spawn, fly for a while and then get zapped? you struggle with what ki you have left and end up loosing..

The position of the meter's level is based on remaining HP not KI.

KI managment is part of the game. If you were dumb enough to get low for... flying... then you deserve to get candyfied.

yeah.. umm lol.. i just realized after playing that you can get across the map and still have most of your ki left.. disregard my previous post. i agree with this idea now..
people good with buu are incredibly hard to beat...

I saywhen we are turned into candy...We'd be able to move like Vegeto did, and buu would have to phystically touch us to eat us. I personally would like to fly around as a doghnut.

I like the idea, but, my preferrence is to remove Candy Beam entirely as always.

On the other hand, you didn't mention if the player is able to resist the Candy Beam...

I like the idea. Buu is over-powered, and this idea would probably balance things.

That's right, he said it's based on health, he didn't say if players could expend their Ki to prevent the candy beam, or to slow it down enough to make Boo run out of energy before he candies you.

i think...you could also make it let you turn into candy at an instant, and then a struggle would happen for the buu player to get the candy in his mouth (like in that episode when vegetto started fighting as a candy) and if the other player wins, he would turn back to normal again, would make it a bit more fun then just an ordinary struggle

But would it change it yo struggle as a candy or as a person? nope.

I think you should also be able to give some ki into the struggle, so if you manage to out-ki buu, you will win even if you have low life.

I only have one negative on this idea: so, like, everytime I get grazed by a candy beam we enter a struggle? What's to stop the dude from using it to escape getting hurt by other players?

Or being raped, like many already are anyway by Candy?

Pride has a point, if you're in a melee fight with a Buu, and the Buu fighter is losing he could just pull out candy to steal a quick win.
