how shall i put this....

when playing against bots on esf (at moment - kibot 3.1) i thought of a way to make them maybe more challenging and fun.

as they can all melee and beam fairly competently, i thought it would be a good idea to have programmed in personalites and comboes of moves for each character a bot plays
e.g:
say a bot is playing as vegeta and he spots an enemy, instead of rushing in as they do at the mo, this bot could maybe start the fight with a generic beam then swoop in a big curve and melee to the ground then pound enemy with kiblasts and finish off with a gallit gun. or for defense against melee, instead of teleport backwards, would teleport sideways and melee enemy side on.

i know this requires more programming but it is a novel idea and instead of just one combo, there could be a variety that is randomly selected.

hehe nope not to much i like your idea and i planned it for the next esf-bot for now (version 3.0 i guess)
well maybe not a big combo as you said but something like this: the bot first teleports 2 directions to distarct the enmy or go behind the enemy and immidiatelly swoops to him or if the bot blocks an swoop attack he could immidiatelly teleport away 1 or 2 times away and immidiatelly swoop such things and for blocking instead of teleporting they do it for esf bot 2.0

ehh bad but thats fixed for new version they eleport 30 % or something and if they do they teleport randomly a direction but they mostly block a swoop attack or if the distance is big enough they gonna swoop also

Heh, you must have played Perfect Dark for the N64, right? That game had a variety of bots (called simulants, or sims for short) with different skill levels (from extremely easy, Meat Sims, to the insanely tough Dark Sim), and different personalities (TurtleSims with heavy shields, but slow speed, sims that go kamikazi on you, target the wining player, seeks revenge on whomever killed them last, or picks a grudge on a random player and hunts that player actively throughout the entire match). That game rocked. But, unfortunately, it would be hard to code that kind of behavoir, since Rare (the company that did Perfect Dark) had a MUCH bigger budget (they actually got PAID to make the game) and a lot more people on their team (all of which got paid).

different personalities are a good idea maybe for later versions but i first want a good bot who fight like a human could do then personalities and learning and stuff can be coded

thnx for the feedback guys! especially "Me" as this was intended partially to you.
this idea about personalities is aimed at making bots more human like as humans tend to adapt to the weapons of a character and so fight in a particular method, whereas the bots dont really, they just fire off what they got in their random fashion (im not complaining as i know it is early days yet...).
ok so ill just have to sit tight and see what the future brings... and "Me" keep up the brilliant work as i rely on bots for esf... internet play too laggy on my comp - pentium2 266mhz, 128 mb ram, 6 gb hd and no 3d card...
