Block struggle (when hitting terrain)

Well, since theres alot of complaints, i think ive come up with a reasonably reasonable idea. When you hit any terrain, there should be another bar that will appear on the left side of the screen. The line on the bar will slowly go down into red at a certain speed, and if you hold the secondary fire button down, it will slow down and stay in blue longer. There could be a crack in the wall instead of it caving in (if its too much for halflife to take without loss of framerates) the crater (the one you get now when you hit terrain from a melee hit) could gradually grow larger.

That's basically crush damage, something that evidently didn't make it into 1.1. Better luck next time.

I never heard of this crush damage thing before, or if it was suggested before, but i like the idea.. :]

I always thought that is was total crap that you explode the instant you hit something when in a blockstruggle.. in the series it happens just like described above. Or at least a lot of times..
But i think we can't expect that degree of detail yet, seeing that this is only beta 1.1.. i mean they are still working on the new melee system.. :smile:
