BIOS password!

How to avoid it. Need urgent help. No, it isn't for hacking, it's for getting to my own PC. I got grounded, y'know.

Take out bios batery for 1-2 mins, Put it back and voila.

Yea open your box and remove the battery.

Ofcourse that will reset all your BIOS info including your clock.

But if you cant remember it then dont put a pass onto it in the first place.

Errr.. Windows & Bios are separated... The BIOS is hardlined on the motherboard.. While windows is just a software. There are no software to remove it. You have to remove the battery or switch the jumper for a few seconds and put it back.

There are no programs that could reach the password part in the bios. Unless I still live under a rock.

Man, I had those kind of episodes when I had my 133 Mhz (more than a decade ago), I wanted to play carmagedon all the time.

easiest way to not be grounded, is to not be a ****.

easiest way to get UN-grounded faster, is to just let the grounding stick, otherwise they'll just think of more ways to **** you up kid.

Besides there are other ways to prevent you from accessing the computer that dont involve BIOS passwords ^^

!!!WARNING!!!
the debug command can be very dangerous if you are using it wrong ( or if you dont know what to do ).
you can clear the whole HDD with 8 simple debug commands.

oh and as a notice:
with the commands lukyas posted above you won't reset the bios password.
in fact you are clearing the whole CMOS which means: clock, bios settings ( including password ), ...
