Beam Transporting

I was playing ESF today and I thought of somthing... I remember that in DB and DBZ the chars can charge up an attack, transport behind the enemy, then fire. Why can't we do that? Will we be able to in 1.3? Is there anyone else who saw that also?

Yeah, not everyone in the series could do it if I remember, just Goku, Buu, Meta Coola and Omega Shenron. Basically anyone who can do Instant Transmission. Out of those characters, only Goku and Buu are in ESF. Goku can already do this when he turns SSJ and Buu is overpowered so he doesn't need it.

Oh, ok...Well in DB Krillin does it to Choutzu (I don't know how to spell it) when he tries the Kamahamaha wave for the first time.

Perhaps, but that's not a signature move for Krillin. If your logic was applied, every character should have a generic beamdisc as well, as Goku used one against Majin Buu once he came back to Earth with the Porta Earrings.

Vegeta too, and Goku used one on Oozaru Gohan in movie 3.

This thread falls basically into the same category as all the other Instant Transmission threads, it's in for SSJ Goku and that's how it's staying.

Ultimate Cell has this ability as well. After Cell 2 blows up he somehow got the cells for Instant transmission... (ok wtf)

Yeah, but the problem is can be difficult to teleport right behind someone. I would be easier if the new teleport wasn't blocked by players, so you would go right through them

Now see that what I was thinking before, cuz the character seems to be moving and not going from one place to the next in an instant, but I wsa told it's just an instintaneous movement and not high speed, so I thought the teleport through player would work. EVM 2.0 has a teleport than can go trhough players and small objects.

It's hard to explain, Instant Transmission can teleport the user anywhere, behind someone, above them, to the other side of a blast, whatever. Because you don't need any path to get there, you can effectivley go through energy attacks. 'Teleporting' (not a good word) requires a path to get to the target/destination. So in ESF, you should be able to 'teleport' through things when teleporting as Goku (during a beam charge) but standard teleporting (for Goku or any other character) shouldn't allow passage though entities.

Instant transmission is breaking you body up into microscopic particles and travelling at the speed if light, its not instant, just so damn fast that nobody notices, because you're in little iddy bitty particles you won't get hurt from beams etc.
'Teleporting' is a really fast movement, but you body stays in its normal state so going through a beam is impossible you'd die

Well then why not just have the charatcer move in a curve insteead of a straight line, since in the sow someone teleported when he used the after image affect and was unharmed by the oncomming attack

Well you can give the impression that you teleported around it by pressing teleport in a prone position, then pressing it again to return to where you were once the beam/ball has passed you.

I really don't think Instant Transmission is capped to the speed of light. The speed of light is insanely slow, cosmically speaking. The ships in the show are capable of interstellar travel, and they said in the beginning of the Frieza saga that the distance from Earth to Namek was about 4,300 light years. It only took them about a month to get there.

They also imply that Trunks didn't "save" anybody by showing up and defeating Frieza, because he would have used Shunkan Idou to transport there if anybody had been in danger.

As a sidenote, there's really no reason to believe that using Shunkan Idou "Breaks you up into small, microscopic pieces." You pulled that one out of your ass. When fighting Koola, he and Goku are able to "pull" each other out of instant transmission.

In one of the movies, they show what it's like when Goku uses instant transmission. He basically runs really really quickly across the cosmos.
