Beam + Crouch suggestion.

 Aight, here is how it goes. I know there are alot of people that wanna fire a beam in that cool hunched/crouch position ^_^, but to make it more interesting i suggest this.

While charging a beam, if you hold down your duck/crouch key you go into that hunched/crouch position (you know what i mean =\)... the thing is if you fire a beam in this position it fires faster, but has less control. While firing it standing as usual you have normal control and speed. I think this also follows the series as when someone hunches slightly they are focusing more energy into the actual attack (ala speed) and less into controlling it.

+ Firing a beam while holding crouch increases the beams speed :tired:
- Firing a beam while holding crouch decreases controlability ;/

+ Adds more strategy to the game :D
- FF Speed Spammers :\

I'm sure a way could be thought of to solve that FF issue... and I think it would be a rather nice addition, simple.. yet pertty :D

that sounds great! i would like to see that in the game... just that i think its hard to make it so u have decreased control of the beam... :S but yea... nice idea

(9 of 10)

always wanted to say that ;)

You know what, if it would be too hard to decrease controlability you wouldn't have to. I would think the increased speed alone would make it harder to control.

well that's only half true since the genetic attack's are the fastest and very good controlable

It is the fastest yes... and the most controllable yes.. but i don't think thats because of the speed, i think thats because it was made to be that controlable, iunno someone look into it ^_^.

good idea.. and yes it correct they use it in the show also... and if it would be hard making it "harder to control" ore that it "slows down the turning" just don't add that then :D and they are focusing more on the beam...so the speed.. so it should drain more KI when your charge it up... ( so you won't have to make it "less control able" ore something becaus it already drain more KI )

err wouldn't change the control on the fly because you have to crouch and then charge up the attack...it would be like an alternate config for the same attack, that is executed when u hold the crouch. I don't think it would be too hard.

And as i said, even if it was too hard to change the controlabillity... just don't change it. Just make the beam faster while crouching and im positive that will limit your controlability. Notice how the generic beam is more controllable than the gatlin gun? Do you think thats because of the speed, or because it was made to be more controllable? ... It is because the attack was made more controllable i think... and if you added more speed to a slow, hard to controll attack.. it would only make it harder to control, because although you are going faster its still using the same controlability and if anything it would make it harder to aim.

Point being it seems logical to me that even if you couldn't change the controlability it would still be hard to control due to the increased speed. Yay for balance-tests =\

As for draining more ki, thats a n3gative.... because i would immagine this attack to be used more as a direct hit, and as a direct hit it = more likely to be used as a power struggle.. and what is the benefit of an attack that is most likely to ps with if.. well... you have no ki... but then again, speed of attack can greatly effect the outcome of a powerstruggle, so.... yay for balancing ^_^

Just because it's a typical position.

I think ESF, Richochet, and HL Bumper Cars are the only mods w/o a crouch feature.

Well, ducking actually has a purpose in 1.2 with the downward swoops. It's not a bad idea at all, really. I just think it needs some fine-tuning. You never know, though. If they ever change the way beams work into more like waves, then this would be excellent. I've always wanted the wave thing to be in.

+movedown
+moveup.

I find myself using move up alot because using +jump goes either really slow, or even sometimes, doesn't go at all (like the character is "stuck")

ok but what about if a person charges the beam while crouchign and then while fireing it they let go of the crouch and standup...would that give the good qualitites of the crouch beam along with he standing beam or what?

Thats why you either crouch or stand up BEFORE you charge the beam. Then when you start charging it locks up and you can't change your position from crouch/stand. You would only need to hold down the crouch button before you start charging then you could of course let go and it would stay crouched.

That makes no sense, wouldn't crouching INCREASE controllability seeing how you are getting a better grip on the ground?
