This is how it looks in the manga. Same as Cell Games - there are some trees, but hard to tell whether the terrain is grassy or not.

I also think it is a desert with little grass, the texture in the rendering is only a test to not leave the ground without texture, further put the right texture with grass areas and desert areas

I've never read the manga and I don't give a shit about the manga. If it looks wrong to the anime its going to look weird to me. Just like piccolos 4 digits. whether its wrong or not is solely up to the people who create the content because its not an exact copy. As long as the map has babidi's ship and is titled babidi's ship, who cares if its in a desert or a dessert.

It was inconsistant. One scene shows Gohan look around the area and you see a family killed on their lawn by a tree.. then another time you see Gohan going into the ship in the desert where Goku and Vegeta start to fight. So take your pick, as in the anime it was both at one point or another.
