Avatar question regarding the forums

Everytime I try to enter my avatar URL and hit submit I get an error saying: "Remote file uploads have been disabled."

My question is why is it disabled?

I always upload mine directly to the forums. I think if your'e tryying to display your avatar on the forums off another host that the avatar gets all fizzled out and screwed, that's why I think it has been disbaled.

I've been trying to link my avatar to the one I have on my freewebs account, but I keep on getting that error. Anyway, thanks for the reply.

Understood. I've been having to upload them off of my machine anyway, but since remote uploads were disabled due to security reasons, I'm not going to argue. Thanks for the replies.
