No it will not. The weather is nothing more than map effects. If the mapper doesnt put those effects to use, then there is no change.

So bascly, you'r saying if the mapper wants it, he can make it go from snowing, to rain, to desert sunny, to cloudy withing a certain time frame and loop it? Cause that would be sweet.

What do you think effects are for?

Stand round and never use?

You could create a tornado if you want to do that. Its all at the mappers fingertips to do. Though mind you. They are effects. Physics are not really part of it meaning the tornado you create wont have any effect on the players.

But is there anyway to create Physics based Tornados?

Doubt it. Not without heavy duty coding.

physics based environmental effects would seriously be awesome, but if you want to play the game. Implementing it in general will be hard on the HL engine and even take us longer to release it.

Well there is also the chance of AMXX. There was a weather mod I ran on my 1.2.3 server that had lightning, rain, snow, and more. Hopefully AMXX works on Final.

Wasn't Pikon equiped with a tornado attack ?
Wouldn't implementing that be quite easy ?

Although you have to ask yourself if tornado's would affect DBZ characters, since they are quite strong themselves, same for other enviormental effects.

Character attacks are entities that directly affect the player. Enviroment effects are loaded up from the XML manager and are just that effects with no real effect on the player. Just like sprites loaded though the Hammer sprite entity doesnt have any effect on the player.

Can certain addons like this and those Water Physics be done after release? Cause that way, everyone wins, instead of you guys ofcourse. :)
