if the metor has a definite impact time and we know the size there for wouldnt we be able to tell where it hits?


i mean just think about it... we know what time and the size there for we know how fast its going so all u need to do is factor in the speed with the rotation of the earth, the axis, the moons rotation round the earth, and the earths rotation around the sun and u know where it hits

Okay, lets look at the facts here. It's years away from happening, which leaves a huge margin of error. The chances that it will hit us are still pretty big, I'll give you that, but if it was a definite thing, surely they would have done something by now?

Even if the thing does turn out to be on an unavoidable collision course with the Earth, from what I understand there is a fairly big project going on in America (and perhaps some other countries) to develop ways to guard against that sort of thing.

I wouldn't sweat it much.

Chances are it wont hit. If the scientists arent even done studying the asteroid then why worry. That is just a conclusion thought up by these scientists. I will worry about this in 2019 when the scentists are done studying it and then if they say for sure it will hit us and were all gonna die then atleast by that time ill be old enough to drink.

big woop we call all die tomorrow if a massive solar flare occured and burning away our thin O-zone layer. some things just arent under our control.... of course we all hope the asteroid is and i hope too cause ill only be 34 when this thing is planned to hit i plan to live a long life... even though things can happen o_o . fact is if this thing hits anywhere on earth where in for a cold hell. nuclear winter all that except i suppose u could call it asteroid winter...

if they were really gonna stop a metor falling to earth what they would do is launch a nuke to the side of the asteroid and push it out of the way cause all blowing it up would do is make it so we get hit more than once
