Another Steam Help Thread

Anyways, Ive searched, so far, I know that you need to:

Download Steam

Put your email/sign up

Paste config.cfg into Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Half-Life\esf (overwrite)

Thats it. I do logout and log in again, but the controls STILL dont show up. I have NO idea what Im doing wrong. Also, tt wont save when I put my name in Settings (as in, when I close Steam, it isnt saved). Maybe its me, but a server takes forever to load (mine stops at "Parsing Server", I wait, then I get mad, and close it with the task manager). I cant make a game too. Help would be appreciated.

EDIT: I have the ESF Steam pack.

Okay, here we go now.

Question 1. The Reason why it dosn't show up is becuase it dosn't show up. Even though it dosn't show up in the configurations part of STEAM, the keys will still work in game. I answered this question about two days ago, search better

Question 2. Where the hell can you put your name in settings? I see no spot for you to put your name in.
Try getting into the game and selecting options there.

I meant, when you click Options, theres a box to put your ESF name, and mine is always "Player".

maybe changing it in your config.cfg might help
