I agree with Pain on this one, I think when you die...you just die, your thoughts are gone simply because you cant think at all anymore, there is no big dream, evertyhing is just black and you're just totally gone, which is hard for humans to imagine. you cant imagine yourself being gone suddenly. but I think thats what happends.

Well, your brain lives for a little while after your body dies so I think you panick slightly then go into a weird coma (dream) and then your brain dies so it makes you feel like your dreaming and you die peacefully, :).

I knew chickens run around without their heads when you chop it off, and they still make the sounds :D (i've actually seen it). but yeah there is still some slight activity right after you die.

new one:
how could anyone develop a computer?
a computer doesn't understand words like 'that' or 'if' so programming "if ...value is 1 execute command 1"
if you bind a command to a word it would work
but if you bind an action to a word like 'if'??
think about it... :devgrin:

Computers do understand words like if.
I know in Visual Basic *points to sig, lol* there are things called "If statements". For example, if you were going to make something check a textbox for a number and if it is higher than 5 you make a picture appear, you would do this.
If txtNumber > 5 Then
imgPicture.visible=true
End If

Maybe I went a little overboard if you don't know BASIC, but if you do you understand it.
I only know Visual Basic, which is basic BASIC... hey, that sounds funny.

I think Just-A-Guy meant, how can the computer know what
If txtNumber > 5 Then
imgPicture.visible=true
End If

means, the words imgPicture for instance. even thats programmed but still at the start of computers programming the unknown was kind of weird. so I think thats what he meant.

Well everything started off with binary. From there to hex (machine language). Then a professor at MIT created a (cant think of the word) to make some hex into simple words. From there it involved into things such as basic, c, cobalt, pearl, etc...

Hey Scorcher2k What the h*ll R you talking about?
Cruzharo....please, if you are going to respond, make it of relevancy to the thread. Read a couple posts up - the question was about how computers got to understanding words and coding, Scorcher was explaining how low-level and high-level computer languages developed, it's all a part of the topic.
