3ds max versions

if i have 3ds max 7 can i do the stuff on 3ds max 5?? so if im using 3ds max 7 and i get a tutorial for 3ds max 5 would it work??

my guess is yea cuz max 7,should have everything max 5 has +more.

any tutorial made for a previous version will work on a later version. it doesnt always work the other way round though.

also, most plugins and stuff for previous versions will work, but some wont.
