When i join or creat a game the multiplayer menu screen stays in the corner and only allows me to see the bottom and right edge of the screen, the rest is just a strange screen regeneration that is black and says multiplayer.

Ok when ever i try to play esf i get to the screen where i am connecting to a server and it just freezes. I just updated my video card and it started happening.

For some reason a friend of mine screen is always black... the game play and all is normal like sounds and such but the visuals is all black.... and its not just esf its all other mods and half life itself...(no hes not using steam) i believe i had seen this problem before but cannot remember...
