I was wondering how to encode different movie files to differnt file types, does anyone know anything about this that could help me out?

hey ive been trying to download some stuff on esf world and alot of times it gives me a .rar file instead of what it should have been. I dont know what this is but my computer cant open or use it. so about half the stuff i try to download doesnt work. Im assuming its some kind of zipped...

The hells gamer file of esf 1.1 doesnt work when you download it. it says when installing currupted file.
