Welcome to the forums. If it could not 'load' the library, it 'could' be a corrupt client.dll file. A simple reinstall should fix this.

Actually, make sure your system is compatible with Directx 9.0, as if there are bugs with it, uninstalling it is going to be quite a pain in the rear side. :/ So my advise is stick to 8.0 if you don't know much about it.

The primary cause of most friezes is video problems. (or Devil :p ...) Anyhow, make sure you are running on the appropriate video mode (OpenGL preferable) with a STABLE resolution, and also check whether you have updated graphics card drivers installed + directx.
