Server Console Problem

I just realized that on neither ESF nor Counterstrike nor on any of my other Half Life MODS is the console working. I normally hit the "`/~" key and it pops up, but recently pressing that key ceased to do anything. Can anyone tell me how I might "rebind" the key without a console? Or should I just buckle down and reinstall CS and ESF? Thank you.

Make sure you have these 2 lines in your config.cfg file which is found in the root directory of the mod.

bind "~" "toggleconsole"
console "1.0"

You can also put -console on the command line to start either one.

somehow console 1.0 line got deleted... oh well, too late, i reinstalled everything anyhow. Thanks though, next time I'll know
