Client DLLs

Hi, im new, my name is Hexus......ANYWHO
I know lots of people have most likely asked this but, ill ask again. I need some serious help with esf. I installed it, and i went to start playing, in other words i started Half life, went to custom game and esf, i tried dcreating a LAN game but it said somthing like could not locate D:/half-life/esf/cl_dlls/client.dll or somthing like that....so i tried internet, said the same thing. finnaly i updated esf from 1.0beta to 1.1 beta, and it still didn't work......can some one please help me???

That link is a .rar file, i dont have what ever a rar thing is....like, when i download a rar file, i dont have the file extension thing.....i dont have the program rar

once you download it, unzip then rename the file fmod.dll ;D

Where do i unzip it to???

put it into your halflife folder...

It still didnt work, and to be exact, it says "could not load library d:/halflife\esf\cl_dlls\client.dll

i have the same prob and i copied the fmod.dll in my half-life folder and it still dont work too...
and your mystix site is down....

have the same prob anyone knows any other solutions?

Still didnt work......could it be coz i dont have this thing called..."Steam"?

i use esf with half-life and the 1.2 still dont work either......

Well you have to say that you have Steam. Put it in:

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your_email_address\half-life\

Replace the C:\Program Files with your pre-requisite drives (say you installed it into D:\Program Files\Steam... etc).

try reinstalling

do not work.... anyone can give a exact instruction..?
i dont play steam..

What version of ESF do you have?

There are more threads on this than there are hair on Hsu's head! (jk =p). This error mostly comes when you try to join a server which has a different client.dll file than yours.
For WON users:
- Make sure that you have the latest version of Half-Life installed (1.1.1.0).
- Make sure that you have the latest version of ESF installed. [ link ]
- Make sure that the server you're trying to join is an updated beta server as well (i.e. - not running another version and is also on WON).

For STEAM users:
- Make sure that your Steam is updated (Steam should automatically update HL before running).
- - Make sure that you have the latest version of ESF installed. [ link ]

well i tried to cr8 a lan game and the error came too...
i try to get alpha 1.2 to run on my pc ^^
client.dll everytime..

That would be because I have found the alpha's are not always compatible with newer versions of half-life myself.
