I think it would be cool if the characters inside the vessel things were random instead of specific characters just being placed inside the mesh itself.

Haha, no.. you mean "that's not how it was depicted in the manga". I'm suggesting that this community project can take some artistic liberties. It is the team that deems the quality of the project, however I cannot imagine that they will put up restrictions against artistic freedom.

Conflicting statements? This still now in the hands of the community! As long as it's finished, then whatever small easter eggs or other things should be considered fine. It also should be up to the standard the ESF team sets.

Hey guys, sorry for such dissapearance. Had a lot of other projects to take care of getting back to this piece. Right now everything uses the same veins texture, except acid/water pool. I will finish it quite soon. Just need few touches to do and it should be up and rollin'
