Man, sometimes these bots make cool topics that I have never seen on the board before. I'm just gonna ban and move this thread to tech chat, leaving it open :p

An old IBM 386 machine. Had no hard drive. I had to put a DOS Disk before booting up the machine just so I could screw around in BASIC or play solitaire. Awesome, right?

That was a bot......lol, I like the topic though :)

My first was an AST system.

it's in a box somewhere but im sure it would still work.

Pentium 133mhz
16mb ram (SIMM chips)
2.5 gb hard drive
2mb on-board video
on-board sound
4x cd-rom

15 inch monitor (connected to a wireless system in living room, still works fairly well)

keyboard (still works perfectly, my younger brother uses it on his computer)

speakers (hooked up tp my brother computer still in fairly good shape)

ball mouse

box of software and whatnot

I don't even know. I still have it, though, and it still works. All that I know is that it ran DOS and was a piece of ****.

My first comp was a Pentium 166 MHz, 16 mb ram either SIMM or DIMM. I remember there was a big "TURBO" button on the computer tower case.

I don't remember the stats very well, but I remember that it came with an uber-powerful 386 processor, topping out at a whopping 40 MHz. We eventually upgraded it to a Pentium processor (100 MHz, I think). We ran DOS 5 (eventually upgrading to DOS 6) and Windows 3.0 (later 3.1 and 3.11). Good times. The beast was manufactured by Hewitt-Rand.

The rest of the stats (RAM, HDD size), I don't remember. I do remember it using both 3.5" floppies and the larger, older, 5.25" floppies. I think I still have A-10: Tank-killer on a 5.25" floppy in my basement :p

Man you old farts and your ancient contraptions. My first PC had a Radeon and like 64MB of RAM I think. I don't remember anything else about it. It was a slow piece of ****.

Haha. My first computer did have a color screen. Too bad the only colors were green and black.

My first computer was a Commodore C64 ^^

As for my first PC. It was a Pentium Celeron 466MHz CPU with 64 MB RAM and intel integrated GFX card with 16 megabytes of memory, 6 GB HD Space.

I later switched the motherboard on that thing and upgraded the CPU to 550 MHz Pentium 3 with a Geforce GFX card. Heh and that 550 MHz CPU actually managed to run HL2 without major lag ^^

I suppose I should correct myself in light of what Grega said. My first computer (not PC) was also the Commodore C64. However, the thing was used so sparingly that it almost doesn't bear mentioning :p
