you really liked final fantasy 9 Gazoline? I thought it was terrible. I couldnt get into the story at all. I didnt even finish the game cause i got so bored. The card game was crap too. It seems to work at random, unless im not playing right :(

FFVII was the best. I remember seein like 30 of these one day. Man..the good ol' dayz. (actually it wasn't TAHt long ago but whate'er, i can reminence)

Man, do you know how many of these Final Fantasy polls there were? Too many thats how much.
Anyways, I'd have to go with FF7 or FF3.

3 and 6 are different games. 3 was for NES, didn't really like it that much. Out of the three NES FF's, I liked 1 the best.

7 is definitely my fav, behind that would be 4 (4 was the one that got me hooked on FF, played it before I started elementary school =]). After that, 6.

Wrong, 3 and 6 are the same, only in one other way are they different. 3 is Jappanese and 6 is American. But 4-6 could have been taken out of the series. But if you counted 4-6 in the series, Final Fantasy X would actually be Finl Fantasy XII. Because there was 3 NES, 6 SNES <including 4-6>, and 3 Playstation games.

Good storyline, the best of them, I believe; excellent music; better character development, where you actually get emotionally involved...in the right way. I know I got pretty emotion screaming at Aeris "DIE DIE DIE! DIE YOU STUPID BOYFRIEND STEALING WITCH!!!!" Then laughing maniacally as she did. *clears throat* where were we? Oh yes, while in the future, you can just almost see the hint of the past in it, and the "present" is visible. It's almost like you're staring at three dimensions at once. It's more vivid, yet dull at the same time. Having the characters with boring or pulled-in personalities having very...subtle clothing (like Squall), but the out-going, more vivid personalities having the more vivid clothing (like Zell). And the variety of stories, and twists is just all too good. If you don't see the entire story, none of it makes sense. It's very good, and I'm playing it yet again. I just can't get enough. It's ending wasn't boring or dull, it's ending was, in fact, just perfect, and there are still new things the more you play through it. Like the first time I played through it, Laguna talked himself to sleep in the pianists bedroom, but the second time, a Galbadia soldier came in and told Laguna that he had to go.

No, 10 would still be 10, as the reason 2 was called 4 in Japan is because they had 2 and 3 on NES, while we only got 1 on NES, our second one was their fourth. When they re-released the games, they gave them their proper titles of 4 and 6. 3 NES games, 3 SNES games, 3 PSX games, and 1 PS2 game, so far. Add those up, and you get 10 =]

Not much is being missed in 1, 2, and 3, tho. 7 is the way to go =]

Yeah I know that, but if you were to count 4,5, and 6 <which are in the playstation versions> we would have 12 FF games. So technecly we have 12 FF games so far, till the PS2. <not counting FFX-2 and FFXI>

i saw epedemic play ff7 and i started to like i just bought ff8 cuz i bought it once it brokr and then i couldn`t beat it so i`m going to try to beat it its a good game though i love those gunblades i`m going to find out where can i customize my own sword and i`m going to pay for them to make me a gunblade that off the hook thanx to ff8 which final fantasy is VII?

FFVII why do you ask?

1. It had a great plot
2. Graphics were not the best but awsome for that time.
3. Game had a solid structure
4. Magic/Melee attacks where nice and even.
5. Quests and plot twists could suprise you (If your a wierd fanperson)

w00t 7 will pwn all final fantasies the only problem i had with it was the materia system (which is a very minor problem) because they NEEDED the materia in the wepon/armor to use its abilities
the ability system in finaly fantasy 9 was my favortie though cause u get to keep the actual abilities instead of have to equip em.wow i need to stop rambling and do stuff....
p.s. SEPHIROTH AND CLOUD ROCK!!! they will be my favorite final fantasy charecters for eternity even if in the game they had big cubed blocks for hands:laff:

It's painfully obvious that we don't have many SNES players in this thread. You should all pick up a copy of FF3 (FFVI) the next time you see it. You may find out that it has a better story and more interesting battle system than FFVII.


And Majin_You, there are 12 Final Fantasies out there right now. The original FF (on NES), FF mystic quest, and 2 through 11, discounting FFX-2. Yes, 11 is out, and it has been up and running for a year or so. It just hasn't been ported to the USA yet. However FF mystic quest was an American spin off wasn't it? If it was, than FFX is still FFX. If not it's really 11.


Guys, American FF3 was japanese VI. Don't confuse the numbers with the roman numerals. 3 is VI.

FF7! Not only do I have many childhood memories of that game (It was summer, and everyday I'd watch my brother play, and my cousins who at that time lived in Vancouver and only came in summer and on winter break), but I loved the materia system, and the battle system overall. The story got in depth, and made you want to play more and more. Chocobo breeding was fun... yay for gold chocobos ^_^. Anyhow I'm gonna shut up now cause my arm is hurting (I went skiing today... ughh.)

Majin knows more about rpg games then you ever will, belive me, he knows about the other FF games, but he just talking about the FF games, not the MQ or FFT.

FF6 (japanese) or FF3 (US), your choice, was one bad ass game indeed. My only suggestion if you pick up FF6, pick it up on SNES as the PS1 version is plagued with screwy music and slow downs during, before, and after battle, no joke it takes around 4 seconds before you enter battle with a random encounter.

Some reasons why I choose FF7 over FF6:

1. The main villian is just evil, and not ghay evil like Kujah. Not to say that Kefka wasn't one bad ass crazy mofo, just Seph is by far cooler.
2. Materia.
3. All the little fun things to do.
a. Racing chocobos, arcade games, battle arena, breeding chocobos.
4. The music.
5. The main character was a real bad ass.
6. Limits.

Aisha: So then I was right? Well aside from missing Tactics. You could have just said that, as opposed to telling me that I'm ignorant. Those are kind of opposites...

Now I'm not saying FFVII was a bad game. Not at all. I'd choose it as my second under FFVI. However, I chose FFVI because of it's A.) story, B.) attention to detail, and C.) Character development. Now every FF has a decent story, but VII and VI really excell here. There are the kind of stories that you would play a less dynamic game to get through, because it's touching and ever interesting. Following Sepherith was great in FFVII just like trying to save the world from the empire was a real trip in FFVI. The farther you went, the more interesting things got. The character development was present in FFVII, but it didn't feel the same as VI. A couple of characters were thoroughly explained and had interesting twists in their personalities (or very interesting), but that was everywhere in FFVI. From the husband to a murdered wife, father to a murdered daughter "Gladia--" er Cyan, who is on a mission to avenge his family and his king, to the ego-tripping ladies man and master of technology Edgar. You had Lock's lost fiance (who left him with one hell of a complex for protecting women) and his ever intimate relationship with the ex Imperial general Celes... Shadow, the mysterious rogue, and secret father to Relm, the artist (a fairly crapplily developed character). Her grandfather was a great mage from the war of the magi, and her town, for fear of their own lives, had decided against using magic in every day life, and keeping a low profile in these dark times. There's Mog, everyone's favorite moogle, and Sabin, the lovable wanna be Dragonball character, whose brother (the aforementioned Edgar) allowed him to venture free out into the world and train himself to fight back against the Empire (by flipping a double headed coin, as you may or may not discover depending on which characters you have in your group aboard Setzer's flying machine). Then there are those filler characters like Umaro, Gau (even though you learn a few things about him) and that Mimic... but they're just there for fun.

And then there's Terra... but she is a bit too much to go into right now. I just love the fact that she can go SSJ heh ^_^

The absolute greatest thing about each of these characters is that none of them (aside from Terra) are Super-men or heroes. Everyone is going after the empire for their own reasons, but they need each other to do it.

Another one of those factors of the game that I really love is the fact that ::spoilers:: the villain actually succeeds in his diabolical plans before the game is over. Kefka destroys the world, killing off most of its population, and becomes a God in the process (albiet a weak God when you finally get to him). The world is shattered, and your team mates are strewn about the world. That's when the game really splits off from the scripted paths and lets you do whatever you want to do. You can even try to tackle the boss with 3 people (though you'll never survive). The split group idea was awesome too, allowing you to create seperate parties with seperate characters to combat different situations. The sheer number of secrets and hidden items are ridiculous, and just one of the many reasons to replay the game upon completion.

Still, the heart of the game is in the characters and all that they experience. The love stories, the murders, and the betrayals (plenty of the latter two... it really is a depressing game. Depressing in a very good way). You really get into it, which is rare in most of the games out there today. You could feel the *******ly ness of Kefka when he ended General Leo's life, and you felt the earth crumble when the statues were shifted out of position and the earth was damned. If you let Cid die on the island after coming out of the coma a year after the world ended (which is easy to do if you don't know what you're doing), you will see Celes attempt to kill herself by jumping off of a cliff. I mean you don't get that high quality of adult content in most RPGs! Damn, was that psycho-depressing or what? This game was an excelent tear jerker and heart string plucker.

Now FFVII was good, but I can't bring myself to say it was better than VI. There is just too much to recall while looking back at VI to say that VII was superior. Still, it's just me, and other people will likely not have looked so deeply into FFVI while they were playing, which is expected. Y'all can like what you want, but FFVI will always be my baby. Always.

*Edit* Oh yeah... the combat system too. Every single character had a unique ability that really mixed things up in fun ways. From stealing (which turned into mugging with a charm) to runic to swordtech there was always something a character could add to the fight. The materian in FFVI was a great system too, and added strategy to level gain by fixing certain materia to give certain bonuses upon leveling up, and allowing you to actually teach different members of your team different magical spells. The only downside to this would be the Ragnarok shard... Ultima was the kind of game breaker that Knights of the Round was... it's a shame they didn't tone it down or just leave it out. Meteo was fine.
