These appear to be LG OEM Monitors, i.e, before they are branded, you get these directly from the factory.

Slow delivery, but for the price, you can't beat it.

2560 x 1440p
27 inch
S-IPS
100HZ

- 430-450$ USD.

Closest you could get to it would be a Dell U2711

http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-U2711-27-inch-Widescreen/dp/B0039648BO

For 850$.

These prices are way to good and the testimonials my friends on OCN are showing are very good.

Here is a picture of a 23'' ASUS next to the Catleap.

You can clearly see the superior colors of the Catleap. Not so over-bright, better blacks, ect.

At such a price! No less. I recommend these for anyone in the market for a monitor.

I bet Mkil is secretly just an adbot, or some guy paid to advertise on fifty different forums.

Good luck with that. 3D means you're cutting your FPS in half in a game.

I mentioned the distance. The way we sit has nothing to do with it. Try watching TV right next to it and you'll see what I am talking about.

Also, look at pixel density.

You could buy a 1080p TV, VS a 1440p Monitor. You'd get less HZ, less pixel density, and lower resolution. It's also S-IPS, which is very good image quality, though only 6-bit RGB. Still, for the price you can't find better.

A 1920x1080 monitor has 2,073,600 pixels

2560 x 1600 which is roughly twice the number of pixels at 4,096,000

1440p is quite close there.

Alot more pixels at that resolution.

Not all people find "better" what other people see as "better". Besides that was my opinion, you are right about pixels but its not big of a difference to go run and buy that ****. Wait for new tech to arrive, OLED, now that's worth waiting for, roll it out, stick it with tape on your wall and enjoy life.

Yes.

In 10 years you may be able to get a decent sized OLED for a little under a grand. Not to mention Sony said they are forgoing OLED.

On January 07, 2012 Sony announced they will abandon OLED development for the mass market and instead settle on adopting "Crystal LED" as an alternative
It's about 2500$ for a 7'' OLED with quite a low resolution.

And yes, not all, but most, you could easily tell the difference in pixel density. Also the increased refresh rate for smoother gaming.

that looks like it came from the 90's man, its relatively new tech, price will drop eventually, not in 10 years that's for sure. I give it 2 years.

and here is some eye candy for Z POWA!

Yes, and do you know how much that cost?

Says 10,000$ right on the video.

You could get a 55' Plasma TV with amazing image quality for 1000$ or less.

Did you watch the video?

"This is really only going to be for Enthusiasts or professional companies" ect. This is not a TV you'd find in the home of your average middle class family.

Those monitors are good and considering getting one. Image quality looks excellent! How did they achieve such a great color and image quality when the contrast ratio is only 1000:1?? :O

At the moment though I am really hooked on the 32" Ambilight Philips TVs! They are so awesome. The corners of your eyes just perceive the image being bigger while not actually damaging your eyes with some humongous screen (compared to TV standards I mean) and it also provides a more immersive experience. I think this tech is terrific and they are also capable of 3D and have 400Hz refresh rate! Any smoother than that and you would think you are Lucid Dreaming.

PS: Regarding the Yamasaki Catleap Q270
Keep in mind 100hz is only possible on Nvidia right now. ATI/AMD 85hz max. They (the monitors) are capable of 120hz but 400mhz RAMDAC limitations on graphics cards does not allow that refresh rate on native 2560x1440 resolution.
To be noted that these monitors dont have Anti-Glare and no OSD or in other words an inbuilt menu. They also come at 60Hz and you have to overclock them using your Nvidia/Catalyst settings to 85/100Hz. This is safe overclocking as many if not all users have done it and these monitors can easily support this, it's just that it costs more to install 100Hz PCBs during manufacturing.

Also nevermind about the contrast ratio. On the manufacturer's website it says it is 5000000 :1 dynamic mode (Im guessing since I cant read Korean)

yes, people will stop making them, they saw that they can do it, so they will drop it now, don't be naive, new tech will always continue to arrive and the old will cost less.

That's 1080p vs 1440p, or 4k resolution, nearly double the pixels, or if you want it in terms that most market people will say, "2x HD as 1080p"

Also, 4k Resolution is the same resolution as movies, and the resolution the human eye sees in.
