The used game thing I don't care about too much. I wonder if they'll let you log into your account on another console to get access to your games. They have to have some method for transferring accounts from console to console, since it'll be needed if a console bricks.

They seem to be focusing a lot on TV, which again, I don't care too much about. Netflix all the way for me.

The fact that you need to connect to the internet every 24 hours is actually really bothersome. This is actually pretty terrible and possibly a deal breaker. It'd suck having to miss out on any new Halo's, though.

edit: Everyone should also keep in mind that they'll be showcasing the games at E3, so to say that they're not focusing on games is unfair. Two separate events, one for games, one for everything else.

edit 2: Indie developers cannot self publish through the Xbox One. They can self publish on the PS4. This is actually a huge deal, I think Minecraft and Steam have proven that people want indie games. They should be working to attract them to the platform.

edit 3: The Kinect camera and microphone have to be turned on all the time otherwise the Xbox One won't work. Microsoft also reserves the right to monitor, capture and disclose all communication via the device.

I'm not saying it will be abused, but I am not comfortable with that.

Yeah, it'll have all the same games the other 2 consoles will have. Definitely not worried about that. Tv, I can give or take. I have netflix and such already so I don't really care much about it.

The thing about the used game fee, though, is that it's currently being set AS the overall value of the game. Not just like 5 bucks or so. So that kills game retailers pretty hard for Xbox games. Which is also the reason for the daily check-ins. So that people can't crack this particular flaw. And I -know- that Microsoft isn't gonna being making demo's for every game that gets released, so there goes game rentals as well. Unless maybe they give out rental codes to the major distributors, like gamefly.

If you can just login to your account to play your game on a friends console, that's not -as- bad, but its still gonna be hard to try out a game before you decide to drop your daily salary on it.

I'm gonna assume that they'll change their mind somewhere down the line. Right now it's just one of the over-lying possibilities.

If you can't log into your account to play on a friends console, that actually is pretty unfortunate. I'm thinking of how my little brother discovers games and plays them at his friends house, and how I did that when I was younger. It'd suck if that was no longer possible.

Quote from a user on another website

I think the idea of having a creepy ******* camera that monitors your heart rate in your living room is why it's a bad idea. Hasn't there already been rumors that MS is going to offer advertisers data on viewer response to programming? I know it's kind of cliche to reference 1984 when talking about something you don't like, but this is literally lifted from 1984.

Keep in mind that the camera is always on.

Enjoy seeing me naked and angry at the screen, Microsoft.

Because I know I will.

What happens if you cover the camera? Does the system stop responding to everything?

I think it'll still pick up audio.

On a somewhat related note, think about all of the sex you can have in front of your Kinect now. The thrill that someone's always watching.

They're in for a treat. I'm pretty flexible.

It was me. I made that name.

The Xbox reveal definitely was severely lacking, and it really seemed like they didn't have enough to show just yet. They may also be gauging the public outcry on certain things. I would be fine with a used game fee of maybe a few dollars, but the full game price is retarded beyond retarded. But I guess if they forced it, it would still work, but I definitely wouldn't buy the console just based on that.

I'm eventually going to be getting the new Xbox, but I'm not happy about what they're doing with it, especially with the fees with games that aren't tied to your account. Fortunately this won't really affect me, but I still think it's stupid.

Well, still remains to be seen if that's how it's gonna be. The backlash on the idea was pretty severe so I'm betting they'll at least drop the fee down, if not get rid of it.

Microsoft seems to think they did well because of main-stream media liking it
