WON is internet play if you where to go thru counter striker then internet play

Won is a type of server that Halif-Life runs on. You run your servers on this when you first get Half-Life/Counter Strike

Steam is an alternate, and will eventually host all Halif-Life servers by shutting Won down. Won doesnt require any setting up, but Steam does. Steam is the future of Server hosting, and Won will get shut down when that time comes.

Steam runs better and its easier to deal with, but some people have trouble setting it up, so if youre happy with Won, stay with it. But 1.2 as well as future ESF versions will be developed for Steam purposes. The team still might include a Won installer, but will not support any won bugs/errors.
