The books/magazines/newspapers/manga/what ever of the future is here and it's called "electronic paper".
It's as thin as a buisnes card, as flexible as paper, twice as bright as an lcd(meaning better picture quality), uses very little energy, just plain awsome.
Currently it can be used to display only still images, these images being any thing from novel's to manga, but they are already researching technologies(called electrowetting) that will enable it display moving images, such as full length movies. Just think of the applications and possibilities with "electronic paper" and its enough to make your head spin. go read more about it here. http://www.research.philips.com/InformationCenter/Global/FArticleSummary.asp?lNodeId=929#epaper
It will revolutionize the way we live.
It's not yet out on the market yet but some stores in Boston, Massachusets, are using them as advertising signs.
