The question is, in simple english: "Why do people want to know what the meaning of life is?" Not, "what is the meaning of life?" People answering the latter question are in the wrong thread
And Sicron, the staff came to a judgement long ago that a large part of the forum IS in fact too immature to hold any sort of serious religious or even political debate, which is why there is a policy to close such controversial threads almost immediately.
On topic, I think as someone said earlier, sometimes we want to know what our little place is in this incomprehensibly vast universe. Sometimes we wonder what we're going through everything for, if for anything at all... because we're human, I guess, and we like to know -why-. That's why we made up myths about the stars being painted onto a glass dome around earth and all of that. We need explanations... including the ultimate explanations. Well, a lot of us do anyway.
