"Where does the time go?"

Hey, guys. I realized it's been a great deal of time since I created a thread of my own, compared to the past when I created them all the time.

What do you guys spend most of your time online doing? This might interest some people, since people seem to assume that people involved with the ESF community are one of a few things: Someone who spends all their time on the forum, doesn't play the game at all, or vice versa, and some combinations inbetween. In any case, you don't have to mention ESF above any other game.

For me, if I broke down my "usage" of the Internet, it'd be something like this:

25% Instant Messaging/Emailing
15% Forum reading/posting
50% Online gaming
10% Random website 'surfing'

Just for fun, I'll put in a poll, so people can visually see what the majority does, for the Majority of the time.

Most of the time goes into role-playing. This includes, but is not limited to LARP and Dungeons & Dragons.

well whenever i use my pc im connected to the internet. i dont so much use the internet as it sits in the background while i work, and i occasionally respond (this includes any messaging. unless i eather really like you, or really dislike you.)

i spend about 50% my time using 3dsmax,
about 25% browsing modeling sites, including our very own modeling/skinning section.
about 15% being completely idol
and about 10% on messangers and such.

I spend a lot of time gaming, probably more than 75% of my online time. the rest can be divided to forum/surfing/research. I occasionally listen to some music videos when I'm in a silly mood.

and a big 35% just idling and not doing a damn thing.

I really want to say something constructive, but I am always under a constant barrage of IMs, Emails, PMs and pages from IRC. Sufficient to say, I never get anything done but giving advice about computer problems, critiquing random models/sigs/wallpapers, and/or fielding questions/concerns about ESF policy.

You LARP online? o_o

Mainly forums (not just this one) and emails because I buy a lot from eBay, and occasionally IM's. ESF is played over LAN so I don't include that as 'online'

Mainly IRC and what not..just surfing and occasionally playing Madden and other games...or just IM'ing. I also spend time to play D20 via IRC once a week.

Time spent otherwise is randomly cruising around with friends and engaging in teenage antics.

I'd say gaming is around 50%. Random surfing is around 25%, and the other 25% is Messenger programs, email, and forums.

Well I spend a lot of time on these forums, and on MSN. I spend the most time on Furcadia, and online social RPG. It's not for everyone but I enjoy it, It's where I met my girlfriend and thats good enough for me.
