What do you hope for in Metroid Prime 2?

Metroid Prime 2 has been announced some time ago, and I was wondering what any Metroid fans hope to be in it.

I hope they find a way to put the 'dash' ability (from Super Metroid) into Prime, that'd be pretty cool in an FPS

I hope it's not a prequel like prime, I think I recall reading it takes place after Metroid Fusion, but the screenshots (screenshots are found here) show no fusion suit, so if it does take palce after Fusion, it'll have to come up with a decent explanation on how come she doesn't have the Fusion Suit.

Anyways with that, go ahead and post your opinions/hopes for Metroid Prime 2!

I actually thought that Metroid Prime was more of a side story rather than a part of the series. I'm very impressed with Metroid Prime, so number two definately won't be bad, but very good.

It's sort of hard at thie time to really give any hopes or opinions, but I do know that the minute it hits shelves, I'm forcing my brother to buy it(he has the gamecub in the house)

I wouldn't mind seeing the Speed Booster, either \o/

Other hopes:

I'm actually relieved to see that the screenies have no Fusion Suit, I'm a fan of the Varia Suit (the one she starts with in Prime, and is the one that the Gravity and Phazon suits are also based on).

I know it's not typical FPS style to have something like this, but I think I'd like the Screw Attack back, there was always something I liked about it =]

A good storyline with allusions to the previous games is always something I look for.

I'm looking forward to a just-as-good, if not better, soundtrack, as well. Music makes things so much better for me \o/

Yea the screw attack would be cool. I just want to see an improved version of Prime. I never paid much attention to the story so better graphics and suits would do it for me.

thats never ever gonna happen at all metroid is from nintendo so why are they gonna put it out on a non nintendo system


and metroid prime 2 will take place after metroid prime picking up the whole phazon suit ending thing



but what im hopeing it has is the old metroid/super metroid style of gameplay where its total open and theres no set path to take like in prime

I am going to actually agree with Hibiki, the old non-linear (2D even!) style of Metriod is what Prime 2 needs. I actually wasn't a big fan of Prime, but then again I hate pretty much all console FPS.

maybe a jetpack or sumthin in outer space in a low gravity environment, like the hull of a spaceship,

maybe a modern environmennt, like a futuristic city in ruins,

maybe a sequence when you actually fly her ship in space, and have a fire fight with lets say ridley?

Hm, screw attack, I don't think that could be pulled off, in screw attack you had to be in a somersault, and a somersault in first person would get confusing, unless Retro could find another way to pull that off like they did the space jump...

whats the point of making games for a higher end system if they aint gonna try new stuff, if they are going to keep doing the same thing they might as well keep making games for super nintendo,

A "Modern" Metroid Game would look good w/ the graphics and look of
"Super Smash Bros.". Just how the originals were 2D and side-scrollers.

Smash Brothers had scrolling too, But imagine a Metroid game in its place
Anyway I hope the story goes further. Its always Samus landing on a planet
and then the planet blowing up.
