You need Half-life or Counterstrike to play ESF (Downloading the game won't work, you need a legit copy).

you nead a legitimate CD-key of halflife OR counter strike to make a STEAM acount and since ESF is a mod you nead the game aswell

Thats odd. Cause I found in this directory C:/Half-Life ... So I must have it installed. Inside that folder there is 1 file (SDK) and 2 files (INSTALL),(UNWISE)...So dose that mean I have it or what is that? AND...I just installed STEAM and I made an account x.x

you can edit your posts ( :laff: beware of mod will warn you :laff: )

well you should have a foulder C:/valve/steam/steamapps/*your acountname*/halflife
by default but sorry i have no idea what Half-Life Standard SDK could be
anyways install ESF to your halflife directory if you want steam its the example or where ever you instaled steam

lol i lost myself

when you install steam you have a directory called C:/valve/steam (by default)
then you make an account you get C:/valve/steam/steamapps/*account name*
then you install halflife you get C:/valve/steam/steamapps/*account name*/half-life
and then you can install ESF b1.2 into that directory (C:/valve/steam/steamapps/*account name*/half-life)
after that you install in the same directory ESF b1.2.1
then you play :D

if you still dont know what youre doing get me on MSN and ill tell you step by step waht to do youll be able to reach me the next 20 minutes then well make ESF work for you (or atleast try :laff: )

To clarify, the SDk is basically what you need for editing the halflife and making a mod, it is not the actual game itself.
When you installed steam, did you input a cdkey?
And if so, is it a legal key or did you generate it?

Yeah, the SDK is the Software Development Kit. It's not the game, it's the game's source.
You've purchased Half-Life Retail, right? You must have, because it sounds like you've got Steam working.
