It is a hoax. The guy who is running the website basically admitted it to a newspaper over here a few months ago (England). The newspaper runs like a small collumn on technology everyday and its usually about the internet. Someone must have written in about the website and thats where i first heared about it. The person who writes colummn asked people to write in if they new what it was about. A few days later they was all sorts of crazy suggestions (e.g release date of the new matrix film) and none of them indicating a worldwide conspiracy as said on the siite. They decided to contact the person who made the site and a few days later the collumn said that there was a message on the website saying something about the readers of the newspaper 'hitting the nail on the head'. The most sensible suggestion was the one about the matrix movie so if its not that its more than likely gonna turn out to be something ghey.

On a side note though its gonna be fun finding out what pictures he's gonna show us on the 8th of march, and if he/she doesnt produce the goods what excuse they are gona give us for not being able to show them.

(EDIT)

I just found the exact collumn i was reffering to that was posted on the site. If you wann find it on the site yourself its near the very bottom of the first page posted on november 7th. It reads :-

"A special thank you to Amy's i. Your readers are pretty much on the ball, picking up the numerous clues. Some of your readers have been spot on with what this event is about."

Why was there any question of it being a hoax or not?

You yanks should examine things more closely...

Looks quite funny tho, is a really cheap way of publicising something... but not as effective as normal methods.

I doubt its about The Matrix 2 because that will make profits merely off reputation, this is the kind of publicity for something new, or for a specific fan base... something along the lines of The X-Files, or more recently, Spielberg's Taken...
