Video game based Movies

I found this to be very awesome. Looks like a Soul Caliber movie is on it's way,a long with Halo, Metal Gear Solid, MechWarrior, Prince of Persia and many others. Frankly, I can't wait to see some of these movies.

The Mechwarrior movie has been in development hell for some time now. I just hope that the movie will stay true to the BattleTech universe.

Bah, the (thin) storyline in Halo is best told in the first person view as you shoot things. A movie would only suck.

I'm not a huge fan of the Halo universe (most of the story elements are more than a little cliche) however a friend dumped "The fall of Reach" on me quite some time ago, apart from the fact the introduction chapter was one of the poorest pieces of writing I've seen published in quite some time (I actually put the book down for two weeks after reading the first chapter), the novel really started to pick up when it was giving background on the sort of training the spartans were put through, it really added some depth to the otherwise painfully dull Master Chief.

If the movie is going to be successful they're going to need to concentrate a little more on the books, there just isn't enough depth in the storylines of the games at this point.
